SXSW Still Needs 150 Music Production Volunteers!

Straight from the festival:
Music Production Volunteers Needed!

We are still in need of Music Production volunteers to work on our stage crews from March 18-22. Each volunteer will receive a Music Badge in exchange for working a minimum of 3 nights (6:00pm-2:00am) during the Music Festival. These volunteers must be Austin residents, age 21+.

*NEW CREW THIS YEAR: PRODUCTION RELIEF* Production Relief volunteers will work in a different assigned venue each night, Thursday through Saturday, March 19-22, from 5:30pm-2:00am. No specific experience is required.

A minimum of two meetings are required prior to the festival. Although Production Relief volunteers will not work on Wednesday, March 18, a mandatory walk-through will take place that night at 6:00pm. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age - no exceptions. See the crew description page for more details.

The festival is still in needs of some volunteers and its getting closer and closer to the opening of the festival so if you fit the criteria, you should step up and you'll get a free badge out of it. You might not get to use it at the best moments, but you can get some experience and lend a hand to a good cause. If you are interested, you can hit up Music Production Volunteer Coordinator James Shinault (james@sxsw.com) and fill out the volunteer form at www.volunteer.sxsw.com.

Speaking of SXSW, we are going to have a big post about all the unofficial shows (where you can pretty much see any band playing at the festival that matters for free), but we need more shows so stay tuned and check back closer to the festival. Things have been slow here, so we haven't been able to post much, but this year is going to get better, trust us.

Hi Trent, hope you managed to get all the volunteers you needed, there is a large trance and dance gig this bank holiday weekend that we also needed volunteers for.

How did the show go in the end?
