Girl Talk at The Loft

This Friday, Dallas welcomed Gregg Gillis, aka Girl Talk to town for the first time ever. The sold out crowd was certainly into what he was churning out on his computer, both on the dance floor and outside on the patio, with help from the speakers outside hooked up to the sound board. The overzealous party goers chose to hop up on stage as soon as he started to kick out the jams and it was obvious that they hadn't ever been to The Loft before. Most would be weary of the venue's shaky construction which feels as if it may give way into the bar below, but those on stage didn't seem to notice. Shortly after, a section of stage gave way, and later in conversation backstage at Fun Fun Fun Fest, Chris from GVB told us that a leg from that section of the stage actually went through the floor/roof of the bar below. Mr. Gillis didn't allow that to stop the show, and with a little help from myself and a couple other crowd members, his table was moved from the stage to the dance floor and the jams kept coming. The show lasted well into the night and its probably safe to say that The Loft has never seen so much sweat...
