Good News First, Then Slightly Bad, Then Good

So, we have a few news updates for you, and none of them pertain to any one topic, so we're just going to combine them all here. First off the bat, some SXSW news:

John sent off our press credential application today for SXSW. Keep those e-fingers crossed, in hopes that we can cover the festival to our full potential, past all the bouncers and velvet ropes. After all the stress of putting the application together at the last minute (even though I've had the qualifications for months now), I think we might have a shot at getting them. Let's hope so. Also, we will be posting more news about shows at SXSW that we think you should check out, so stay tuned for that. News has been slow from SXSW lately, but we know those good people have a lot on their hands right now, and things will start to come out soon for sure.

It's really happening folks, the Gypsy is closing down. The site says nothing about the closing, but the evidence is there. The first show that they have moved is TV on the Radio with The Noisettes, on April 4. This statement is now below the listing: "
SHOW HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE GRANADA THEATRE, ALL TICKETS ALREADY PURCHASED ARE PERMITTED...FOR MORE INFORMATION CALL 888.512.SHOW." Most shows after this date have been moved to the Granada, like:
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists on April 6
Tapes 'n Tapes on April 20

Blonde Redhead on May 1
Animal Collective on May 26

It looks like a couple of days after we reported on the Gypsy's closing, they started to shift their later shows out to the Granada. So, if you want to see a show at the Gypsy, you might want to buy a ticket soon. It looks like they may be gone for good after March. We will keep you posted on the Gypsy, so check back with us for more info. Other shows still at the Gypsy:
